<p>In the equipment to fold laundry items a number of times, there is an initial conveyor belt to carry them at an angle of 30 degrees, and a second conveyor belt at the rear of the first conveyor so that the laundry is caught and clamped between the reverse level of the first conveyor and the forward level of the second conveyor. There is a third, approximately horizontal, conveyor which moves against the direction of travel of the second conveyor. There is an insertion folder at the transfer from the first to the second conveyor and also at the transfer point between the second and third conveyor. This folds the laundry along a line running across the advance direction of the conveyors. A fourth conveyor extends the line of the third conveyor, moving in the same direction with a controlled drive. There is an insertion folder in the plane of the fourth conveyor, folding the laundry along a line parallel to the direction of conveyor travel. The design gives a compact folding unit, without requiring folding rollers.</p> |
