The helmet offers a high degree of safety to the driver in the course of a fire, as it absolutely precludes respiration of the combustion gases, respirating only the air from the cylinder. In this helmet the air intake filters, which may be fixed to the scarf, may also be arranged at the base of the helmet; said filters exhibit valves which open during inhalation and close during exhalation. The diaphragm (15) surrounding the nose, the cheekbones and the mouth, also surrounds the chin. Said diaphragm is provided, beneath the chin, with at least one discharge valve (18) for the exhaled air, functioning in opposite manner to those of the filters for the said air intake. The receptacle (17) is linked to the connection of the supplementary air cylinder installed in the car, while the visor (3) is held tight with the appropriate sealing. <IMAGE>
