Yarn knotter and cleaner - are separate mobile units travelling independently on the same track

For a textile machine assembly where there is a yarn knotting unit which travels on a rail round the spinning stations, where is an independent mobile cleaning unit which travels on the same rail, independently of the knotter. The cleaning unit is fitted with a control switch so that, if it nears the knotter, then its direction of travel is reversed. The design separates the two units so that the suction/blowing of the cleaner does not affect the knotter, without requiring a separate travelling rack. The control for the cleaner is an overrun or a proximity switch. The cleaner travels at a faster speed than the yarn knotter. The cleaner carries grid shields on the front and rear sides, in the direction of travel, on an elastic mounting so that if they are pressed against the body of the cleaner then they trip the overrun switch.
