<p>Automatic tension regulating apparatus for stranding machines consists essentially of a pneumatic servo-system, wherein the displacement of a weight Q bearing against each element 3 to be stranded is converted into a pneumatic signal P3 which is compared with a preset pneumatic signal representative of the desired tension of the element. A deviation from the desired value causes a pneumatic signal P2 of appropriate "sign" to be applied to a brake block 43 acting on the paying- out storage drum 2 to increase or decrease (or even totally eliminate) the applied braking force. <IMAGE></p> |
