发明名称 OBSERVING METHOD FOR TWO-FIBER OPTICAL FIBER AXIS ALIGNMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To accurately and easily align axes in two axial directions by observing an image of optical fibers which is projected on a V-groove mirror surface and observing the opposition position where the axes of optical fibers face each other. CONSTITUTION:The two optical fibers 1 and 2 are arranged closely on the V-groove mirror surface 3a of a reflecting mirror 3 which has the V-groove mirror surface 3a on the top surface so that their axes are put opposite the V-groove mirror surface 3a in parallel; and the optical fibers 1a and 2a, and 1b and 2b of the two optical fibers 1 and 2 are made to abut each other and the optical fibers 1 and 2 are observed directly from above the reflecting mirror 3. Further, the image of the optical fibers 1 and 2 which is projected on the V-groove mirror surface 3a is observed and the opposite position where the axes of the optical fibers 1a and 2a, and 1b and 2b face each other is observed. Consequently, the axial shift of the optical fibers 1a and 2a, and 1b and 2b is accurately and easily observed from the two orthogonal axes in a plane perpendicular to the axis direction of the two-fiber optical fibers 1 and 2.
