The central heating boiler burns fuels releasing a large amt. of gas, particularly wood, having a combustion chamber with bottom grate and secondary air supply orifice enclosed in a casing through which water flows, and connected by a flue to the outlet. There is a primary air supply conduit (2) on one or both sides of the boiler, its inlet port having a control shutter. A port (6) at its other end leads into the side of the combustion chamber at the top part of the corner formed by the chamber rear wall (9') and the bottom grate (15).
