In the ignition system for internal combustion engines, the electrode group is in two parts. One part is screwed into the cylinder head and has within an outer body (1a) an insulating sleeve (1b) surrounding a rod electrode (1c) which is recessed within the sleeve. The second electrode is screwed (2c, d) into the upper face of the piston using a hexagonal bolt head (2b) from which merges the tapered electrode proper (2a). The bolt head dia. is small enough to allow its removal by a tubular spanner through the cylinder head electrode hole. The polarity can be interchanged. The piston may carry both electrodes.
|
