FACILITY FOR ADJUSTING AND COOLING THE ULTRASOUND RADIATOR

An ultrasonic arrangement for welding of plastics where the ultrasonic radiator (transformer) 6 is fixed inside a one way acting hollow piston 7 of a pneumatic cylinder 2 by means of a flange 26 arranged in a nodal plane of vibrations of the ultrasonic radiator. Cooling air is supplied through a port 29 and circulates through longitudinal cooling ports in an ultrasonic convertor (transducer) 25 connected to the radiator 6 and through ports 28 in the flange 26. A return spring 24 acts on the piston 7.
