PURPOSE:A honeycomb type rotary cylinder having oxidation catalyst at one back side is installed into gas duct consisting of two go-back semicylinder, and the gas to be oxidized is passed through specific route, so that heat exchange and oxidation efficiencies are enhanced. CONSTITUTION:A honeycomb type rotary cylinder 5 having oxidation catalyst at one side b is installed into gas duct which consists of portions 8, 9, 10, and 11 assumedly devided by the diameter d and the plane P containing the center line C-C into two go-back semicylinders 6 and 7, and the cylinder 5 is rotated by the shaft 3 connected to the motor M. Gas to be oxidized containing combustible material such as toluene is admitted from the fromt face 6a of the semicylinder 6 into the cylinder body 5 and exchanges heat with the already oxidized gas, then discharged from the back face 6b, passes through the temperature regulator 13 and the fan 12, to reach the back face 7b of the semicylinder 7 where the gas is oxidized. The oxidized gas enters into the cylinder body 5 to exchange heat with a new coming gas and then is discharged into the duct 11. |
