PURPOSE:To facilitate the shape control on the exit side of the final stand, by changing the ratio of peripheral speeds of upper and lower work rolls, and by changing the rolling load without changing the draft percentage. CONSTITUTION:In the final stand Sn, upper and lower work rolls 1, 2, are separately driven by motors 6, 4, independent of each other, and the differential-speed rolling is carried out by the speed controllers 5, 3. The shape of the sheet 9, rolled by the final stand Sn, is always detected by the sheet shape detector 7, whose signal is inputted to the arithmetic unit 8, which inputs the speed correction signal to either one of speed controllers 3, 5, when some difference exists between the aim shape value and the detecting signal for the sheet shape; hereby, the ratio of peripheral speeds V1/V0 is changed. When the ratio of peripheral speeds changes, the rolling load also changes; when the rolling load changes, the sheet shape changes, so that the ratio of peripheral speeds of upper and lower work rolls 1, 2, of the final stand Sn is changed; hereby, the sheet shape on the exit side is automatically controlled. The rolling reductions of upper and lower work rolls 1, 2, are constant, and their draft percentages are also constant. |
