<p>The security lock fitted to vehicles can e.g. be a door ignition, or steering-wheel lock. The cylinder in the housing is checked from turning by protruding stops until a correctly-shaped key is inserted. This draws the stops individually, the key being insertable in two positions. The key profile (20) is held in contact with one of two sides of each stop (9), according to its insertion position. On some stops, at least, the two sides determining the withdrawal direction are of different height or are stepped. They may be discs with a hole (19) through each, with the key (12) pressing its profile against the left or right half of a hole edge.</p> |
