Tyres on aircraft wheels are checked for minimum pressure by a sensor which is permanently in place. Manual control permits observation of indicator. The pressure sensor comprises a tubular body (1) screwed to a tyre valve (2). Sealing is provided by an annular washer (2b). A push button (4) has a lower section (4d) which slides in the throat (1c) of the tubular body against the action of a spring washer (3), to operate a shaft (2a) in the valve. Air pressure raises a piston (5) carrying a magnet (13) against calibrated spring (6). Pressure indication is given by a it shaped magnet (8) with two coloured sections on annular ring (11). This rotates on a shaft (9) to indicate through windows (12).
|
