Uneven floor insulating matting - has elastic crepe paper below bitumen type binder and granulated cork

The insulating mat is made up from a supporting substance(1), with a granular insulating material(3), esp. pieces of cork, fixed on it by means of bitumen or other elastic adhesive(2). Here the supporting substace consists of crepe paper. This is thin and elastic enough to be readily adaptable to irregularities in the floor or other underlay which it is to cover. It is also inexpensive, and effectively insulates the sound of foot steps.
