<p>A holder for suspending objects comprises a carrying arm and a clamp member which may be removably fastened in a preferably cylindrical, usually essentially vertically upwardly directed hole of a several times greater depth than diameter. The hole is made in a wall such as a tunnel wall or concrete wall. The clamp member of the holder consists of a resilient, generally V-shaped member with a longer and a short limb. The short limb forms an acute angle with the longer limb making the clamp member essentially V-shaped. The short limb is extended at its outer end by an intermediate arm forming an obtuse angle with a carrying arm which has such a length and such a direction in relation to the short limb and intermediate arm that, when introducing the clamp member into a vertically upwardly directed hole with a diameter less than the length of the short limb and long enough for the longer limb to engage with the major portion of its length against one side of the wall of the hole, the short limb will be resiliently bent in a direction towards the longer limb by its engaging the opposite side of the wall of the hole at the merging portion between the short limb and the intermediate arm, whereby the intermediate arm extends down through the hole with the carrying arm to one side of the hole resulting in that, when the carrying arm is loaded with a vertical force such as the weight of an object, there is a moment on the short limb so that the contact pressure at its ends increases in proportion to the size of the load, to retain the fastening portion in the hole.</p> |
