An immunosuppressive composition of matter comprising a pharmacologically acceptable diluent and an immunosuppressive effective amount of synthetically produced 1-(thiocarbamoyl)-2-imidazolidinone of the formula <CHEM> the method of suppressing an immunological response in a patient by administering an immunosuppressive effective amount of synthetically produced 1-(thiocarbamoyl)-2-imidazolidinone and a process for preparing 1-(thiocarbamoyl)-2-imidazolidinone.
