The machine for automatically labelling fruit has a first continuous conveyor whose slope angle is adjustable forming the base of a loading hopper. Components at regular intervals on the conveyor and at right angles to the travel direction form compartments which discharge at a feed station. Upstream of the latter a selector returns any protruding fruit to the hopper. Second and third continuous conveyors, one above the other, are movable to and from each other automatically to suit the dimensions of the fruit. The latter is gripped between conveyors at the feed station and transported past detectors through a labelling station to a discharge station. The detectors control the feed of labels equally spaced along a carrier strip.
