Aq. surfactant compsns. capable of forming a lamellar "G" phase at 23 degrees C are claimed. The compsns. comprise 20-50 wt.% H2O and >=5 (pref. >10) wt.% each of >=2 different surfactants selected from alkyl sulphates, alkyl ether sulphates, olefin sulphonates, alkylbenzenesulphonates, alkyl sulphosuccinates, alkanolamide sulphosuccinates, paraffin sulphonates, fatty acid carboxylates, alkyl ether carboxylates, alkyl phosphates, alkyl ether phosphates, alkylphenol sulphates, alkylphenol ether sulphates, alkylphenol ether sulphonates, fatty acid ester sulphonates, fatty acid sulphonates, acylsarcosinates and acyltaurines (where the alkyl, alkenyl or acyl gps. contain an av. of 8-22 C, ether gps. are glyceryl gps. and/or polyoxyalkylene gps. contg. 1-20 ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide units) |
