The rear view mirror is for use with motor cycles or cars and is for exterior mounting. It has a body (1) with openings (30) near the edge. The body is elongated and a free space is provided between the free edge of the mirror and the body. The openings (30) are made in the lower part and slope 45 deg. relative to the longitudinal axis of the body. The mirror (21) is carried on the shaft of an electric motor (3), inside the body and rotates.
