Carbon anodes baking furnace measurement and control system - uses modulated radio signals transmitted to and from stationary controller

The signals from measuring sensors (a), and command signals for control devices (b), are fed to and from a stationary controller, whereas units (a) and/or (b) are mobile and are applied in sequence to a row of furnace chambers. The signals are transmitted by radio to and from the controller, so no cables impede the mobility of units(a) and/or (b) along the row of chambers. The signals are pref. modulated onto high frequency (h.f.) radio carrier waves, and the pref. radio appts. is used on a combustion furnace for baking anodes used in electrolysis cells for winning Al. Modulators and demodulators are pref. used for transmitting and receiving the measuring and control signals, and the embodiment uses conventional radio technology. Used in the computer control of large plant baking carbon anodes.
