PURPOSE:To form a satisfactory image by preventing a spark discharge, which is generated during formation of a latent image at the insulated drum end to be formed with a secondary latent image, through an insulating element. CONSTITUTION:In a primary latent image formed on a screen 10, the corona discharge current due to a discharger built in the screen 10 is modulated in accordance with the latent image so that a secondary latent image is formed on an insulated drum 14 which is equipped on its inner side with a conductive electrode. If insulating elements are formed by a dipping or the like at the both ends of the screen 10, the spark discharge, which might otherwise be established at the both ends of the shorter drum 14 than the screen 10 due to the corona discharge can be prevented during formation of a secondary latent image thereby to form a satisfactory latent upon the drum 14. In case the drum 14 is longer than the screen 10, like results can be obtained if an insulating member is mounted in the vicinity of each end of the drum 14. |
