PURPOSE:A sizing agent for glass fibers that contains a specific ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and is readily applicable to glass fibers because it resists alkali and has good adhesion to glass fibers as well as cement materials. CONSTITUTION:Said sizing agent comprises (A) 10-50, preferably 15-40 wt% of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer containing 10-40, preferably 15-35 wt% of vinyl acetate, (B) 10-50, preferably 15-45 wt% of a resinous tackifier, preferably a rosin, and (C) 10-50 wt% of paraffinic hydrocarbons of 20-60 carbon atoms and/or solid esters of fatty acids. |
