The electronic multi-range timer has an RC oscillator (1). It includes a variable resistor (VR) whose resistance is varied by a setting element (61). The RC oscillator output signal is connected to the input of a frequency divider (2) with a fixed step-down ratio. The frequency divider output signal is fed to another frequency divider (3) with step-down ratios varied by another setting element (63). The output signal from the second frequency divider is supplied to an output element (5) to transmit a signal marking expiry of the period of time.
