The device has a printing forme which interacts with a counter-pressure means. Said printing forme preferably consists of a roller which has an electrically magnetisable core (2, 3, 9) which is surrounded by an outer layer (11) of non-magnetisable material. The outer layer (11) has holes (12) arranged according to a predetermined pattern. Steel pins (13) can be inserted into the holes (12), which pins are held magnetically as long as the core (2, 3, 9) is magnetised. The pins (13) protrude slightly from the surface of the outer layer (11). When the pins (13) are inserted into the roller according to the Braille alphabet, a paper passed between the roller and a counter-pressure roller with an elastic surface can be printed with writing according to the Braille alphabet. <IMAGE>
