In the case of an electrical plug connector, the power supply cable is intended to be protected against tensile and twisting stresses. A conical sleeve (24) which is slotted and can be compressed like clamping jaws is pushed onto the power supply cable (23). This conical sleeve is compressed by means of a threaded ring (27) with an internal cone (27a), so that the slotted end of the conical sleeve is pressed in the radial direction against the circumference of the power supply cable when the threaded ring is screwed into the housing (11), which is provided with a female thread (28), of the plug connector. The power supply cable is thus fixed immovably in the axial direction. <IMAGE>
