Knock-down armchair construction from U=shaped cross-yokes - has supporting seat and U=shaped back and armrest which are slotted and wedged together

The knock-down chair comprises two yokes (1, 2) each consisting of a rear leg (3, 4) and a front leg (5, 6) connected by a cross-bar. The cross-bars cross over diagonally and slot together at the centre point. The rear legs extend to form back rest members (3, 4) connected by a lateral member (22). The front legs extend (5, 6) to support the arm rest (22) each yoke being horseshoe shaped. The seat (13) has four slots (14-17) engaging the insides of the yokes. The lateral member is also horse-shoe shaped with its ends supported by front leg extensions and the rear by the members (3, 4) secured by wedges (e.g. 32).
