PURPOSE:To allow a water-expansible body to be expanded by the ground water or sewage water and improve watertightness by the expansion pressure by adding the water-expansible body to a flexible cylinder member provided at a junction between the wall face of a manhole or the like and a conduit. CONSTITUTION:When a sewage water pipe 2 is to be connected to a manhole 1, a flexible joint 5 made of a flexible cylinder member is coupled between the wall hole of the side wall of the manhole 1 and the outer periphery of the end section of an aqueduct pipe 2 inserted into it via mortar 3 and 4. Water- expansible rubbers 7 and 8 are provided over the whole outer periphery and the inner periphery of the cylindrical nonexpansible rubber 6 of the flexible joint 5. As a result, the water-expansible rubber absorbs the water in the mortar and is expanded, the adhesion of a junction is made extremely high by this expansion pressure, they are not easily separated, high water stop reliability can be obtained. |
