Planetary simulator with sun and earth globes - has light tube on solar equator and geared drive to move earth on eccentric track and to revolve it

The planetarium device comprises a heavy socket with a steel base plate to stabilise the instrument. A globe represents the sun and has a tilting device on a plate, adjustable by a fine screw, to tilt the axes to 7 deg. 11' inclination. A light tube is mounted on the equator disc on the sun to simulate the sun's rays. An eccentric track to control the movement of an earth globe is attached to the equator disc. The earth globe has geared drives to rotate at daily 1 deg. west/east and 360 deg. yearly.
