The winding parts of the head are held together by clamping elements. these are in the form of rings (10) surrounding tightly only the associated winding parts the rings themselves being held on the winding head only. AT least one ring surrounds intersecting coil sides of the winding head at one intersecting point. Preferably the rings are in the form of rigid holding clamps on insulating metal. They may be U-shaped prior to their deformation. After this deformation the end sections of the shanks may mutually overlap. Some rings may be arranged in planes extending parallel to the longitudinal symmetry axis of the coil.
