The parts making up the frame for a window, or similar, consist of hollow plastic profile units, with right-angled corner connections provided by angle pieces inserted into their hollow spaces from the ends, with form-locking effect. A threaded piece (34) is fixed in a frame piece (4, 8) at each corner. The connecting angle-piece (33) accommodates a retaining screw passing through the other frame piece (3, 7) in an aperture (62). This is screwed into the threaded piece to draw the frame pieces together at the abutting joints (5). This enables frame parts to be rigidly joined at corners, without affecting the surface, and permits subsequent assembly with a high degree of rigidity and resistance to twisting.
