<p>Heating bodies of graphite for the heating of furnaces and presses which work under vacuum of gas protection, have a high specific conductivity for heat, whilst occupying the least possible space. Whilst in use the bodies are affected as little as possible by residues of oxidising gases. Flexible, thin plates of graphite are used and these are built into the heat flow circuit in such a way that the heat flow moves vertically to the planes of the graphite layers through the heating body. The stacks of plates are clamped between massive graphite rings. A stack of thin plates of graphite may be cut out to the profile of the heating body and hot pressed.</p> |
