Surface-treated football shoe upper to improve ball control - by applying polyurethane or rubber coating in injection or casting mould

Parts of sportshoe, esp. of the uppers of a football shoe, are coated with a thermoplastics by casting or moulding-on in an injection-mould. The uppers have been suitably roughened before application or may have been coated with an adhesion-adjuvant. The coating is a polyurethane or rubber and is said to improve ball control. Process comprises placing the uppers on the lower plate of an injection- or casting-mould; superposing the top plate which is suitably configurated with the intended profile of the coating, and contains the sprue(s) for the moulding cpd.; casting or injecting the liq. plastics.
