A contact 20 of an edge connector comprises a resilient metal strip having two limbs 24, 26 extending from a loop portion 22, the inner limb 26 engaging an inward projection 28 on the outer limb 24 so that on deflection of the loop portion 22 by an inserted printed circuit board 44, the limb 26 slides along the projection 28 once the loop 22 is spring loaded against the board 44. Contacts 20 are retained in cavities, e.g. 12, on one or both sides of a board-receiving slot in an insulating housing 10 by bent portions of the limbs 24 and hooked end portions 34 of the limbs 26 engaging shoulders 36 and 42 in the body 10. The limbs 24 terminate in tags 31, the contacts preferably being of an alloy of copper, nickel or beryllium copper. The body 10 may be of moulded plastics material, e.g. diallyl phthalate, formed with apertured extensions for securing to a support.
