A hot gaseous stream is used to provide propulsion thrust e.g. using a hydrazine thruster. The thruster consists of a reaction chamber (3) supplied with fuel through a pipe (7), and a heat shunt (8) coupled between the pipe immediately upstream of the chamber. A heat sink, e.g. a flange member (6) contains fuel valves. The shunt may be fluid, evaporative, radiative, chemical or electrical and cooled by fuel bypassed from the pipe. The chamber may be supported by a perforated tube (5) which surrounds the pipe.
|
