The tool is used in pre-assembly of a sealing profile frame onto a pane of a motor vehicle. Where it adjoins a handle the tool incorporates a bar-shaped piece (3) with a Z-shaped spreader piece (4) fixed to its open end. A pressure or guide roller (6) is rotatably mounted on a bolt (7), on the same side between handle and spreader piece. The lower part (8) of the spreader piece may correspond to the thickness of the pane to be inserted (9). The radius of the roller is at least as great as the depth of the groove (12) in which it is led when the pane is inserted.
