<p>Cold preservation process for fresh prods., such as fruit, vegetables, wines and other drinks is effected in a freezing cabinet equipped with an evaporator traversed by a cold-producing substance which lowers the temp. of the air in the space and is arranged in a current of air. A partition is fitted against the rear wall of the cabinet and is secured by screws; it consists of a corrugated plastic sheet and suction slits, cut in the sheet, allow the fan to suck in air which is directed, by the deflectors, over the evaporator which is fitted with fins and fixed to the rear wall of the cabinet. The current of air flows downwards and it is rapidly chilled on passing to the inside of the cabinet. Permanent ventilation of the prods. is ensured without stagnant prock pockets of air. The air flow meets a collecting dish filled with condensed water which tends to prevent the prods. from becoming dehydrated. The dish is located over the compressor so that the air from the fan is charged with a higher amt. of moisture. The cabinet has a very high freezing power which can be obtd. with an evaporator which has double the surface of the usual type but takes up little room. Owing to the fact that the prods. to be preserved are in a current of air at a temp. >0 degree C., which is constantly renewed, they can be kept for several months without any redn. in quality.</p> |
