NEW MATERIAL:5-Alkyl-1,5,5-trialkoxy-1-pentene-3-yne of formula I (R<1>, R<2> R<3> are methyl ethyl, propyl, butyl, and other lower alkyls, R<1> is preferably methyl). EXAMPLE:1,5,5-Timethoxy-1-hexene-3yne of formula I where R<1>, R<2>, R<3> are methyls. USE:Hypnotics, antibacterial agent, an intermediate of 2-alkyl-4H-pyrane-4-one of formula II that is used to synthesize maltol. PREPARATION:The reaction between 1-alkoxy-1-butene-3-yne of general formula R<3>OCH=CH-C=CH and an orthocarboxylic acid of R<1>C(OR<2>)3 is conducted in the presence of a Friedel-Craft's type catalyst of metal halide such as aluminum chloride or zinc chloride to afford the compound of formula I. |
