摘要 1,148,206. Gas turbine plant; stator vanes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Nov. 11, 1966 [March 4, 1966], No. 50680/66. Headings F1G and F1T. The compressor inlet guide vanes, or other guide vanes, of a gas turbine engine are heated to prevent icing by hot air supplied to the interior of each vane from a manifold 52 through ducts 28 and directed to passages 42, 44 adjacent the leading and trailing edges 36, 38 by a corrugated stiffening insert 40. The vane edges are inclined with respect to the conduits 46 formed by the corrugations so that the conduits open one after the other, as at 48, into the passages 42 or 44. A member 50 blocks off the middle conduits 46 and perforated baffles 54 direct the air from ducts 28 to those unblocked, a heat insulating sleeve 56 preventing hot spots on the vane surface adjacent the baffles. Ducts 28 are of steel and the vane is of titanium having a lower coefficient of expansion such that the ducts, which are a loose fit in the vane cap 26 in the cold condition, expand into sealing engagement with the cap when hot. The hot air leaves the vane through outlet 58 and conduit 60. In a modification, the inclination of the conduits 46 with respect to the vane edges is effected by canting the insert 40.
