1489719 Tube-to-tube plate joints BALCKE-DURR AG 8 June 1976 [27 June 1975] 23606/76 Heading F2G A tube 2 is secured in a bore in a tube plate 1 of thickness A by first securing the end of the tube in place either by a weld 3 or an expansion 2a, the region B of the tube 2 within the thickness of the tube plate being then expanded hydraulically against the walls of the bore, the region B not including the expansion 2a or the weld 3 or a zone C adjacent the other end of the tube plate bore, and the tube finally being subjected to a mechanical rolling action over the region D within the hydraulically expanded region B to elongate the expanded region to extend outside the tube plate bore (as shown in dotted lines), so as not to leave a recess around the tube 2 which could cause corrosion. |
