The toilet air ventilation arrangement has a suction pipe (8) running near the union of the seat (2) with the basin (1) and ending near the basin's inner edge. Between the seat and the basin is an observation component, (10) connected to a ventilator (5) in the suction pipe or to a valve leading to a continuously operating ventilator. This enables aspiration to tkae place when the toilet seat is folded down or is subjected to load by the weight of a user. The seat support and hinge fittings must be such that the suction pipe can run between seat and basin.
