<p>A method of applying a coating onto a base, to give a composite material suitable for metallising utilises a temporary transfer sheet as carrier for the coating material. The resin coating, after application to the transfer sheet, is hardened sufficiently to prevent its surface picking up dust or sticking to other objects. It is then transferred onto the base and fully hardened, esp. by pressure and heat. Before metallisation, the temporary transfer sheet is removed, esp. pulled off. The transfer sheet may be of polyethylene, PVC, polyvinyl fluoride, polyalkylene terephthalate, PTFE, paper coated with plastics or metal, plastics coated with metal, or metal foil. Process is used for making printed circuits by the additive method. A uniform base coating >=20 u thick is obtd.</p> |
