POLAR PHENOLIC ANTIOXIDANTS FOR THE STABILIZATION OF PLASTICS of the disclosure Bis-o-alkylphenolcarboxylic acids and the salts thereof have such a balanced relation between the non-polar phenol and alkane radical on the one hand and the polar acid or carboxylate radical on the other that they are sufficiently compatible with the non-polar polymer. Thus, they are fully efficient as stabilizers and, simultaneously, substantially resistant to extraction by fats and oils.
