Polyphase sinusoidal AC voltage and current generator - has standard frequency generator and counters converting its oscillations into bit patterns for synthesising sinusoids

The generator comprises electronic counters, digital stores and resistor networks with electronic switches corresponding in number to the number of voltages to be generated. A standard frequency generator and a d.c. voltage standard are included. The standard frequency generator controls in parallel all the counters, which generate a new bit pattern as a digital word after each full oscillation. Switches control the number of generator oscillations after which the bit patterns are periodically repeated. Words from the digital stores are delivered to the resistor networks which convert them into equivalent sinusoidal voltages or currents generated by the common d.c. voltage standard.
