<p>The wear indicator is esp. for rail vehicle disc brakes. It has a branched compressed air channel in the brake shoe, which carries a brake lining retainer with a lining. The channel branches are normally sealed, but open to the atmosphere, when a certain wear limit is reached. The air channel (5) extends completely within the lining retainer, and the branches end in non-covered surfaces of the retainer. The branch apertures (6) in the surface are covered air-tight by sealing sections (11) held elastically on the retainer. The sections have a feeler (14), which projects over the joint plane (15) between the retainer and lining (9), towards the brake disc, to the desired wear limit.</p> |
