<p>A joint assembly for metal pipes whereby a short plastic sleeve (d) is attached to each of a metal pipe (a) and clamped to the plastic nipple or tube (b) by means of the metal ring (c) the essential feature of the arrangement being the use of magnetic deformation of the metal ring and other tubes, so that the metal ring (c) is either constricted or expanded. Gas and liquid-tight joints can be produced which will withstand internal pressures of more than 20 kg/cm2.</p> |
