<p>An air-containing sheet useful for insulation and other purposes, as well as a method of making such a sheet, is provided. The sheet comprises a pair of spaced, air-impervious layers, for example of flexible plastic, having outer edges. The sheets are hermetically sealed about these edges. The sheet has inlet-outlet means for inflation or deflation of the sheet. A series of spaced parallel partitions extending between and secured to opposite layers, divides the space between the sheets into sections. Air-communication means associated with the partitions, permits passage of air between adjacent sections. Such a sheet permits a single layer of air to be held between two layers of plastic, with no seam of plastic being exposed to both sides of the sheet as in conventional air-containing sheets.</p> |
