A fluorescent pigment consisting of N-substituted iminocoumarins of the general formula I, <IMAGE> (I) wherein X1 is a cyano group, a carboxamido group or an aryl or a heteroaryl radical linked directly or through a -CO or -SO2 group, X2 is an amino group, hydroxy group or an alkoxy group and when it is an amino group, may carry an optionally substituted alkylene or alkylidene group bound in ortho position to the nitrogen atom and in para position with respect to the coumarin oxygen atom, X3 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a cyano group and X4 is a functionally converted carboxyl groups. The new dyestuffs dye polyester fiber in orange or red shades with good fastness.
