PURPOSE:Laser irradiation on cutting portion of wire rod precisely processes the area to provide a smoothly finished cutting area. CONSTITUTION:Burrs at cutting area of wire rod can be melted and removed by irradiating a laser parallel to cutting area, or perpendicular to wire axis. A cutting area inclined to the wire axis can be partially melted and removed to form a correct flat surface perpendicular to the wire axis. Further, an incorrectly cut size is melted by laser irradiation on the whole cutting area and finished into correct size. Heating effect of laser irradiation is limited only to the cutting area, so it does not affect internal structure of the wire. As laser can be concentrated into a small spot of microns order, it is particularly useful for working on fine wires used for cantilever cartridge. |
