Fuels e.g. gasolines have added thereto (i) an ethylene polyamine having 2 or 3 nitrogen atoms and substituted by 1 or 2 aliphatic hydrocarbon groups of mol. wt. 1000-2000 each of which is branched-chain and has at least one C 1 -C 2 branch per 4 carbon atoms along the chain and (ii) a polyalkyleneoxy modified poly(alkylphenol)-formaldehyde polymer containing the repeating unit m<SP>1</SP> times where U is C 2 -C 3 alkylene, m is 4 on average 4-10, at least 80 number per cent of the alkyleneoxy groups containing 4-10 repeating units, m<SP>1</SP> is 4-10, T is C 4 -C 15 alkyl, the terminal groups being hydrogen or methylol in the ortho-position. |
