Novel amines of formula R1-alk-A (where R1 is a 10,11-dihydro-5,10-methano-5H-dibenzo a,d cycloheptenyl-(10)-group (opt. substd.), alk is lower alkyl(id)ene, A is opt. substd. amino) are prepd. by (a) converting the group X of a cpd. R1X (where X is a group convertible into alk-A) into alk-A; or (b) splitting off the 11-substit. of a cpd. R1a-alk-A (where R1a is a 9,10-dihydro-9,10-ethanoanthryl-(11)-group contg. an 11-subst. which can be split off via a carbonium ion); and if required, replacing an OH, alkoxy or acyloxy gp. in the 11-posn. of the product by H, oxidizing OH or lower acyloxy to oxo, introducing, converting or splitting of substit. in the end product, separating racemate mixtures into pure racements, separating the racemates into optical antipodes, converting salts into free bases or free bases into salts. The products are CNS depressants, anti-aggressive agents, histaminolytic agents, psychotropic and sedative agents, animal feed additives and intermediates, and also coronary dilators. |
