<p>New cosmetic agents (esp. skin-care, skin-protectant and skin-cleansing agents based on usual ingredients such as emulsifiers, fatty substances, plant extracts, solvents, perfumes, thickening agents, preservatives and surfactants) contain alkyl-substd. ureas of formula R1R2N-CO-NR3R4) (I) in an amt. of 0.1-20 (pref. 3-10) wt. % based on the total wt. of the agent. In (I) R1 is 1-6C alkyl, and R2, R3, R4 are each H or 1-4C alkyl. (I) have a skin humectant properties and serve to replace the substances responsible for the hygroscopicity of the skin which are removed by environmental effects such as washing with strongly wetting and extractive substances, contact with chemicals, climatic effects, etc. (I) thus help preserve the skin's protective effect against environmental influences.</p> |
